Wondering if ZIIP Halo is a good investment for treating sagging skin? In this post, I’ll go through all about how ZIIP can help tighten your skin and reduce the appearance of loose skin. I’ll also include my own before and after pictures from using this device regularly for three weeks.
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by ZIIP Beauty. And of course, all opinions are my own.
If you’ve read my previous blog posts about microcurrent, you know how much I love my ZIIP device. But due to pregnancy I’ve had a long break from using it.
When the company behind ZIIP asked me for a collaboration, I thought it would be the perfect time to really test and document the results with this device after my pregnancy. This post will tell you all about my results and the treatments I did during these weeks.
For those of you who are new to microcurrent and ZIIP, I’ll also include some basic information about this technology and what it’s really doing for your skin. If you’re already familiar with that, then just jump straight to the Treatment plan for sagging skin.
This is what my post will cover:
Before I tell you all about my treatments and my results, let’s dig into the technology of ZIIP. Especially for those of you who are new to microcurrent.
What is ZIIP halo?
ZIIP Halo is one of many microcurrent at-home devices on the market. With skin tightening and overall anti aging as its purpose. What sets it apart from other brands is that: 1) It includes a whole plethora of programs, which targets several different areas and concerns. And 2): It has an exclusive dual waveform technology that combines both microcurrent and nanocurrent. Which in turn is said to deliver both immediate and long lasting results.
I have a long blog post about microcurrent if you want to dig deeper into how it works. But in short, it is a very low level current that helps your skin cells to act as if they were younger. And at the same time it strengthens your facial muscles, which gives you a natural facelift and more fullness. It can also help with lymphatic drainage which has an even more sculpting and tightening effect.
Nanocurrent is said to be even more effective in boosting collagen production and improving elasticity, giving you more long lasting results. It is also very effective in improving circulation.

The founder, Melanie Simon, is a renowned esthetician with 20+ years of experience of skin care and electrical current. She is named an “electrical esthetician” thanks to her expertise of microcurrent and nanocurrent.
Melanie will guide you through all 13 programs that you can choose between. Some are full facials and some are specifically targeting for example the eyes or lips, or areas with acne or hyperpigmentation.
I will do another test in a coming blog post, where I will try to reduce my melasma with this device. Very excited to see how much it can do!
How to use ZIIP Halo
To start with, you need to connect your device to the ZIIP Beauty app (it’s free). From there you can choose between 13 different programs (and more to come). Every program has a video with Melanie showing exactly what to do and for how long.

The program “The Lift” is set by default. So whenever your Halo is turned on, that is the program you’ll get unless you choose another one from the app.
In the app you can choose between full facials or targeted treatments (such as acne and hyperpigmentation, lips, and eyes). And you can also choose between different treatment plans for a full schedule of 7 to 30 days.

Next, you’ll also need a conductivity gel. And ZIIP has four different ones to choose between. Crystal gel, Golden gel, Silver gel and the one that comes with the device: Electrical complex. I’ll get back to these further down.
I have a long blog post explaining about conductivity gels, if you want to read more. But in short, they are needed for the current to penetrate the skin. And as a bonus, the ingredients in the gel will penetrate deep into the skin as well.
The gel is also necessary in order to have the device glide smoothly over your face without dragging.
Depending on what treatment you choose, you’ll need 4-10 pumps according to ZIIP Beauty. I personally would say 4-12 pumps. I like to use a lot, but then I also do several treatments in one session. If you are just doing a quick 2 minute treatment for the lips, you definitely do not need more than 4 pumps. Probably less. But if you are doing one or two full face treatments, followed by a short targeted treatment (such as eyes or lips), I do recommend 10-12 pumps.
Now, let’s move over to my personal experience of using ZIIP.
My personal experience of ZIIP
As mentioned earlier, I love my ZIIP. And I have explained in several non-sponsored blog posts why I think it’s the best microcurrent device of the ones I have used.
I have four different at-home devices (Nuface Trinity, Myolift mini, ZIIP, and Foreo bear) but ZIIP is the only one I actually use.
Besides two pregnancies, I have been using it for about 5 years now. During this time the device has improved even more, with different programs, and even a whole new device that came out last year (ZIIP Halo). This is something I appreciate a lot. Since it shows how committed the company and the founder are to delivering the best to their customers.
Something I also appreciate is how simple the device is to use. I turn it on, connect it to the app, and that’s it. No cables needed, and no need to adjust anything on the device. It has only one button to turn it on and off.
What I like the most though, is how it has made my face look younger and more glowing. I am a big fan of microcurrent and I noticed great results from using Nuface and Myolift mini too. But ZIIP has been more powerful in less time, so it’s a winner for me without a doubt.
In order to have your skin look younger, sunscreen, diet and sleep are fundamental. But with microcurrent you can achieve even more results on another level.
This device has for example helped me with my hooded eyes, under-eye-puffiness, and to make the corners of my mouth to stop pointing downwards. And overall it has helped give me an even younger looking and tighter face.
Even now after having a long break from using it, I was surprised by how much results that still remained. And my hooded eyes (that I’ve had all my life) were still gone.
With that said I did feel an urge to start using it again. Especially with all sleep deprivation. And this time I followed a strict schedule to see how it could improve the overall tightness of the skin after three weeks.
I also had the privilege to have a 1-1 session with the founder Melanie. She taught me a lot new and I will share some exciting tricks to you in my treatment plan below.
Treatment plan for sagging skin (using ZIIP)
So, after a long break I started to use ZIIP again. I followed a strict treatment plan for three weeks, and this time I also took before and after pictures.
Sagging skin means that your skin is less firm than it used to be. This can vary a lot and the more you work with prevention, the better. My blog post about sagging skin will explain more about this.
Since I’ve used ZIIP regularly for a few years before my pregnancy, I have a pretty good starting line. But even if you would have a lot of sagging already, you can for sure get results!
Another circumstance I would like to share is that I am sleeping about 4 hours per night since my second baby was born. Life is, to say the least, very hectic right now. This is, of course, not very desirable for the skin. But it’s also the most beautiful time of my life, and I wish I could stop the time. Glad to have my ZIIP to counteract the negative effects that sleep deprivation has on my skin. And happy to share this experience with you!
Background:
- I have been using ZIIP for several years, and I love the results it has given my face. I have now had a long break of almost 9 months, and have therefor re-started my usage of ZIIP Halo.
- I am very sleep deprived at the moment. Being a mother of a newborn and a toddler. And given, the start line as well as the results after three weeks, will be affected by this circumstance. But it’s also a perfect time to test how ZIIP can help counteract the effect of sleep deprivation. Which is quite common especially among busy moms.
- I am 44 years old and have never had botox, fillers, or any other injectables.
My treatment plan for three weeks:
- I used ZIIP Halo three times per week for exactly three weeks.
- I used the same programs each time: The lift (two times), followed by Founder’s favorite. This took me exactly 18 minutes per session.
- As conductive gel, I varied between using Crystal gel and Golden gel. But mostly I used Crystal gel since it is my absolute favourite.
I did not follow any of videos of these programs, but of course you can. Instead I did a more advanced treatment.
The program “The Lift” works in two ways. Depending on the speed of your movement, it will target both the lymphatic system (when you’re going fast) and the muscles of the face (when you’re going slower).
Therefore I did the movements both slowly and fast at the lower part of the face (the place where you usually experience saggy skin). And mostly slower at the upper part of the skin where I wanted to focus on strengthening and plumping the muscles. Which in turn will give your face and skin a lift.
I did one side of the face at a time, always starting at the lower part of the face and then going up. I did the program one time per side. So two times in a total.
To kickstart the lymphatic system, I started each side by doing some fast glides on the side of my neck. Three fast glides followed by holding below my ear. This is something I truly recommend especially if you have sagging skin. See video below to see what I mean.
Next, I began to work on the jawline. I varied between holding the device vertically and horizontally. I did this fast three times followed by hold. Sometimes I also did the whole movement slower. And I also did some slow glides over my chin from the bottom and up. See video below.
After the beep, I started to work from the corner of my mouth to the cheekbone and up. I did this pretty slow to really target the muscles. See video below.
I also did a few movements on my forehead, going upwards. If your forehead is a problem area, you can stay there for a lot longer.
Finally, I did the program “Founder’s favorite” for 10 minutes. This program only has nanocurrent and it works almost only on the skin itself. Therefore you can freestyle as much as you want and go over the parts of your face where you feel you need it the most. I like to go over all over my face and stay a bit extra under my eyes.
“The Lift” also includes nanoccurent, but only about 20 percent of it. So to really get the best overall results, I recommended you do Founder’s favorite” too. It will also give you an instant superior glow!
Before and After 3 weeks
So, can I see a difference on my face after using my ZIIP strictly three times per week for three weeks? Oh yes! I feel I look almost as good as I did before my pregnancy, despite sleeping less than half the amount of hours I usually do. Some days are of course better and some worse. That’s life.
Overall, my skin is firmer and my jawline is more prominent. And I get many compliments for my glowing skin.
To be honest though, it is always difficult to show results through pictures. Since lightning can make a huge difference. I tried my best to take pictures at the same place with natural lighting at the same time of the day. But depending on the weather, it can still be difficult.

As you can see, I have quite a lot of melasma from this pregnancy. My next blog post will be all about that.
I hope this post has been helpful for those of you that are thinking about buying your own ZIIP. As well as for those of you who already have one. Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions at all.
If you want to buy your own ZIIP, the code ZIIPWITHANN will give you a discount of 10 percent. The discount works on all the gels too.
Use this link to ZIIP Beauty if you live in the US. And if not, use this link to Currentbody instead. The code works on both.
I will do a follow up post in about a month. Showing my results on my melasma after using ZIIP for three weeks. So stay tuned if you are having problems with hyperpigmentation!
Update: my post about melasma is live and you find it here.
Until next time, love your skin!
